All,

My jib sheet keeps getting pinched by my mast when I tack. Matt Miller told me a solution with a bungee chord that was made standard gear on 18's, but I forgot! (sorry Matt!) I just got six feet of new bungee to play with so what do I do again?!? Thanks All (especially Matt M.) Take care and have a Hobie day!!!

It works nicely because you can do / undo the shock cord from the mast without untying it.

Obviously, this only works if you've got the newer-style jib halyard block on the front of the mast. Otherwise, you'll need to put a fairlead or a hook there.

Matt,

Will that work on the 14 Turbo? Could I go through the Main halyard cleat then to the striker?

Cleat might be a little high, but it's worth a shot.

Never had a problem with jib sheet, but it appears Mick Butler (Hobie 16 World Champion) uses the same setup.
