X-beams & mast , need some white paint

Las Vegas is gonna be over 112 to 115-deg F this summer ; and i'm getting tired
of burning my hands on the black anodized parts.

Their going to get White paint (.)

What kind of paint should i use ?
How should i prep the parts ?

Paint gets scratched off easily. I used black auto trim paint on an anodized frame and it looks like hell, especially on the front member where the jib blocks make contact.
Better off with a carpet kit on the side rails as these are the ones you're probably touching the most.

plus a few extras that I'm restoring

it's true that paint will scratch, but it's better than burning hot bars.

epoxy paint is what I'd try, a spray job will give an even coat.
or see if electrostatic powder coating will work on the aluminum (costly and needs a contractor for the job).

there are some forms of hull paint that may work as well, again costly compared to epoxy paint.

I painted my comp tip white many years ago, mostly to keep off the UV damage. maybe I'll go for a florescent color next time

I have used appliance paint with reasonable results.
It can be scratched, but it lasts pretty well for little time invested.

I'm going with OlderBowman's suggestion , and look for a good epoxy paint ; i'll call
the manufacturer to enquirer how to prep there paint for aluminum.

Epoxy paint is strong ; they even use it in pools !!
