part? I see the H18 requires nut#8050321 to secure the pin and the 16 and 17 use an anchor bar. Is this the only difference?

Also, I'm wondering how to best orient my new pins to minimize stress. If 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock represent perpendicular to the gunwale, would you recommend, say, 10 o'clock (starboard pin) and 2 o'clock (port pin)? Thank you.

Retracted... corrected. Yep... still using the nut. Be sure it also has the upgraded shorud anchor plate as shown in the parts diagrams.

The twist toggle reduces the stress on the pin, but rotating the pin to point at the tang on the mast is the best you can do.
