Hello,

Im in the process of redoing my Hobie Cat.

So i got rid of the flaking Striping Decals along the side of the Hulls.

Is there any company that sell these made for Hobie cats?

i couldnt find anything besides just a common vinyl company that would make generic ones

Some Hobie dealers still have a stock of replacements - depends on which stripes you have. What year / sail pattern is the boat?

Really???? I didn't know you could still get anything. My local guy told me that, years ago, I guess I shouldn't believe everything I hear. Hey, I have several sets of sails for my 18 and would consider several different stripe patterns. Who can you put me in contact with????

Tell him Matt Bounds sent you.

I know they've got several different patterns, but I haven't been out there in a while, so I don't know which ones or how much they have now.

Thanks for the tip on Mr. Lyons, I am looking for the stripe kit for a 1979 Keoke 16 of all things. Otherwise will go to local sign shop to try to get something made up custom...but of course will not have the Hobie Cat lettering near the stern.

The Keoke stripe is probably best done by a sign shop, since it's a three stripe / single color vinyl appliqué. Any original stripe left over is probably no good anymore.

And as long as the trademark symbol is used the Hobie lettering is fine.

Mr. Lyons is out of kits.

Will try the local sign shop, they did a nice job on the registration numbers for my 83 '16.

I measured the stripes and the gap between them. Don't exactly know how to get a replica of the hollowed out lettering, it is long gone and I can't find a pattern anywhere. Going completely old school on this one. Getting the all white line for all sheets, halyard, etc., using Seaway blocks, etc. Restoration rather than upgrade. We've upgraded the 83 boat, I thought it would be neat to try to get this one close to what it looked like when new in 79. Looking at the SLO Sail orange tramp to get as close to original as possible. Unfortunately too much sun and weather for the original tramp, had a long slash in it, brittle, and beyond repair. My main is faded near the bottom, but middle and top look nice as does the jib. Anyone have a line on a Keoke main or full set?

Regards,
RP
