Hikin straps

Is is possible to make my own hiking straps by using grommets , without taking the trampoline off the boat, I want to grommet these straps to the trampoline. I am new to this, its just a idea.

Might be tough with the tramp tensioned. You need a solid surface to hammer the grommets against. Maybe a 4x4 on end under the tramp?

To replace the hiking straps I at one time went to a junk yard and got a seat belt out of an old car. That was free. Then for 15 or 20 bucks I had someone at an upholstry shop sew them on for me.
To be honest though, I have never felt I needed hiking straps, although I am 6'4" and hiking out would be a bit uncomfortable.
Just a thought.

Another thought, after grommet installation at desired spots run 1/4" to 3/8" line with neoprene AC line insulation over lines between grommet spots. Feet slide in and out of these type hiking straps very well.

This is the recipe for replacing straps but to install the grommets with the tramp still on the boat would be very difficult.
