Greetings. I have been lurking around this forum for several years but have never posted. I fear that if I don't post, my new boat will sit in the driveway far too long!

I recently picked up a '94 H16 that appears to be in good shape. It is supposed to be ready to sail. I have checked over everything as good as I know how, thanks to info I was able to find here. Buying the boat with little history of sailing was adventurous enough. Self rigging and attempting to sail her is just a bit over the top. I am hoping to find someone in the Salt Lake area with quite a bit of experience who might be willing to help me rig and sail my new boat a time or two before I head out with my wife/kids. I would really like to hook up with someone who knows these boats backwards and forwards, including various rigging options, etc. I prefer NOT to learn lessons when things pop, buckle or snap.

I have been a hand on a few varied boats, and I have a strong working knowledge of sailing, yet I have nowhere near the experience or confidence I will need to rig and sail my own boat.

Lastly, I sure appreciate the members of this forum and all the information that is willingly shared. I have been (and will continue to be) a "taker" for some time, though I do hope to be able to give back some time down the road.

if ur prob is not sure on the rigging check out youtube.com and just search hobie cat 16 rigging or what not and u can find many vids that will show u how to do it. but if i lived around u i would have no problem showing u but if u have a particulare rigging problem i can break out my vid cam and make a vid for u (gives me an excuse to get my boat out on the water)
