G'Day mkrawats,
As far as I know the seats on the TAI are the same as the AI and the other kayak seats. These all have 1" webbing so those buckles should fit. I got ours from our local outdoor shop.
The triglide are simple if you want the one seat position.
I like to adjust my seat up tight for paddling, laid back for pedaling and somewhere in between for sailing in Adventure mode. I found the triglide difficult to adjust.
The camlocks allow for easy adjustment. :)

Thank you, Stringy. I too would like to easily readjust the straps for maximum comfort as I switch from paddling, peddling and sailing. I will order the 1" camlocks.

As I wait for my TI, I too would be really interested in the answer to the rudder probs! Do you find the problem on all points of the wind, or mainly when tacking to windward? The rudder will be under quite a bit of pressure beating to windward I think, and control rope stretch could be an issue, as they must be a lot longer than on the AI.

Received my TI, but haven't tried it out yet. Am hesitant about going out with this known problem. Hope a resolution comes out soon.

Any other TI owners experience this problem ?

Rudder down line tension has to be the issue. You should also check the drum bolt tension to be sure the rudder "latches" down. Too loose a drum bolt and the hook doesn't latch. Tighten and then back of an 1/8th to 1/4 turn.

There is no other issue we are aware of with the rudder staying down except proper down line tension. It takes a lot. Pull hard, hold and cleat with tension.

I felt that if I put anymore tension on the line before cleating, something would break.
I'm not familiar with the drum bolt. Could you give more explanation to where it's located and what it is?
Thanks.

The "drum bolt" (part #81399001) is the pivot bolt that holds the two halves of the Twist N Stow mechanism together. You can see it in the rudder section of the parts book, or online.

If the bolt is too tight, there is binding and the rudder doesn't want to flip up and down.

If the bolt is too loose, there is slop or a wobble between the two T & S halves and the rudder may "wobble" its way out of the locked position or not lock up at all.

The bolt is adjusted carefully between these two conditions so the rudder spins with little effort and no wobble. Once you've seen it, it's easy to check and adjust if necessary. 8)
