 Post subject: shim a hobie 16

what is the best method to shim my 16? can i use shim stock like brass or will it react?

i used pennies, quarters, and dimes....i had very little play however, just in the sidebars....they would twist a little bit, about 1-2mm

I went to Lowe's and got some aluminum flashing strips (in the roofing supplies section). I tried beer cans but the aluminum was curved, not very stiff and ripped easily.

The best way is to shim it with thickened epoxy. Use 404 high density filler, glue it, be done with it. Look up 'gluing your boat' in the forum search.
