I have a old sail from a 16 ft hobie, lt blue, I want to make 3 sail/boom bags out of this old sail, i want to just lower the sail ,and bag the boom and sail and leave it until next time i sail.
. Is this a good materal to use, or should i sell the sail and get some other canvas type fabric to protect my sails.
thanks,

Sail cloth is not waterproof or lightproof and does not make a good "outdoor" sail bag.

Leaving the sails on the boat is just asking for them to be stolen.

What color are your old sails?
