Hello all,

I've got a 2007 Revolution that I've had for three years. After I was done fishing the other night I noticed some water in the hull which I've never had before. After getting home and inspecting the kayak I found a nice crack right underneath the cam lock knob where the mirage drive locks down.

You can see the crack pretty good in these pictures.

So where does this leave me? Can I still get the hull replaced even though its over 2 years old? I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow and see what they think but I was hoping I could get some help here first. I don't abuse the kayak at all and I believe this is a defect in the hull itself. I read that the crack can be patched with a PVC cap and some goop but I'd rather not have to fix it myself if I don't have to. I'm really hoping Hobie will take care of this because as of now I can't use the kayak because it slowly takes on water and I don't think I can go out for too long.

What should I do guys?! I freaking love this thing and I don't think the crack is permanently fixable since it's on a spot that is under a lot of pressure. Thanks.

Contact your dealer. They can file a warranty claim... we may be able to help.

I called the local dealer this morning and they filed a claim for me. As of now I'm waiting to hear back from Hobie to see what they can do for me.

Update on the kayak.

I just got back from picking up a brand new 2010 hull today. My dealer filed a claim for me on the 19th and the hull was shipped out on the 22nd. Didn't cost me a penny either. You really do have some awesome customer service out there! Now I have to get back out there and catch up on some fishing.

Wow that was fast I have been a few weeks waiting for a east coast shipment of my replacement AI hull to the dealer. They have been the best about keeping me informed and handling things..... Just having to bail out alot of water when I go out.(drivewell crack)..(I can't Not go out  ) especially when the drive must be used (I try not to use it)
I know Hobie doesn't want to use another carrier and I don't want them too if there is danger of damage.. I can be patient but the summer.... and great days and and.... Sorry It will be here soon.... You all know what I mean..
Good things come to those who wait.

You might push a wad of plumbers putty in the slot and then put the drive in....might save some time on the bailing till the new hull comes in...........http://www.youtube.com/user/spinfisherbob
