Mat,

Following your posts on the web. Great work.

I am a member of Fleet204 in Syracuse, NY. Born in China, but have been living in the US past 25 years. I happen to know Weihai quite well many years ago. Now it is so well developed. Don't know If they will have the regatta at this venue next year. I would love to organize a few sailors from our fleet to participate in the event. I travel to China on business very frequently, and certainly it would be a great thing to promote the sport Hobbies Way in China.

Last I know the place is known for its kite festivals in China (the traditional kite flying...not the kite surfing type) and Southeast Asia. The fall (September and October ) is the best time for mid to high wind sailings. Wish I had heard about this regatta earlier.

Keep up the good work.

Hello Matt,

Been following the event on the web site. Where can we see footage of the actual racing? I guess someone has video rights to the whole race but wondering if we could see more racing/sailing clips?

Thank you!!

Our part is only on the beach, but I may get a short stint on the water soon. They do not allow media boats on the course, so only at the weather and leeward mark. We'll see. I don't see anything coming from the organizers, but national TV CCTV has been covering it. They have had a few nice stories thus far. Nothing on the web that I have seen.
