Hi all, I am new to the forum and a relatively new Hobie 16 owner. I have had the boat out 4-5 times now and *think* I am properly setting up the boat.

My question is how tight should the jib halyard be? I know that is what puts the tension on the rig, but when I tension this with the halyard rope (It has 1 small block for mechanical advantage) should I be putting this "kind of tight", or wailing on it to get it REALLY tight?

Thanks for the help!

I usually just pull mine til the slack is taken up in the shrouds, no need to wail on it for normal sailing conditions.
