Any Cat sailors in/near Wilmington, Wrightsville beach, carolina beach need any help sailing this week? I can help If taught. I only have Adventure Island sailing experience though. Waiting on a Hull replacement from Hobie as mine leaks like a Sieve and I'm off the rest of the week through Monday.

Drummer,

I'm sorry I missed you man. I posted and then walked out the door. We ended up only sailing for about an hour and a half when we saw a big thunderhead start to develop. I was taking out a lady friend and we felt it best to go in once we saw a few sparks. It was blowing just under trap conditions, so really comfy. I would have probably been on the wire if I was solo. If I don't see you before August, I definately see you in Surfside.

ElementAI,

I'm not going to be in that area in this weekend. But, if you are really interested in getting a ride on a cat I know some people in the area that might "show you the ropes" so to speak. Wilmington/ Wrightsville Beach has actually become a pretty hard place to even get a boat on the water without someone in the know.

E-mail me at hobie16hullflyer (at) yahoo if you would like me to ask them.

I am going to be at Wrightsville Beach this weekend. I will not have my Cat with me but would love to catch a ride with someone if anyone is going out. I am also a member of Carolina Yatch Club, lunch and drinks are on me!!

I would think that Wrightsville beach would be a great place for Cat sailing but have never actually seen one out in person. I did see one offshore of Masonboro Island 2 weeks back but it was at a great distance.. Would really like to help crew on a cat once to see what it is like. Did 10.8MPH on the AI on Friday near Money Island.. Anyone Sailing on Monday needs a hand and a cold one?

We use to keep are boats in front of the Blockade Runner until November of 07. There is now no public place to launch on the Beach. Carolina Yacht Club and the other one below it are everthing that is wrong with sailing (private yacht clubs). I had my 18 on the south end rented from an old land lord but lost that a few months ago. I have my boats now on the back end of Scottshill loop and sail out of Richs Inlet(high tide only)

Finally had a decent day at Jordan and Vista Point was closed. I had to launch at Ebenezer which isn't too good for Hobies. Hard to get out of the cove. I only saw 2 other Hobies out there and the breeze in the morning was around 10 to 15 mph as advertised. It died in the afternoon. I had the opportunity to use my new mast step link from Murray that someone had recommended on this site. It worked as it was supposed to, eliminating the "toggling" problem. I see why it must be removed completely for sailing but is worth it. James and Drummer, I thought I would see you out there. Maybe after Vista Point re-opens.

Went sailing at Jordan yesterday- my cat's maiden voyage with me! Barely any wind but I made do with 5-6 knots. Hope to see some other Hobie guys out there soon to give me some pointers!

I'm going to race in Hatteras/Rodanthe this weekend, but I will probably try to show up sometime during the holiday weekend. I hate when they close Vista, i've run into that problem before as well. They should really post stuff like that on their site, but I don't think they do.

I will be in Colorado over Holiday weekend - Vista should be opened again now so may shoot for a sail this weekend if the wind co-operates

Thinking about heading to Jordan on Friday around noon- calling for 8-12mph winds. Anyone game?
