No eagle pics yet, bu I did sneak up on this guy yesterday. With the canoe (which I am donating to a local boy scout troop) I could not get very close. The herons easily spot the paddling and take off. But with the Outback I am just a big floating log and can get much closer.

I have to wholeheartedly agree. I have found that slowly and silently approaching water birds is way easier with the mirage drive. One of the reasons I purchased my Oasis was to birdwatch all the waterfowl that make the gulf coast their home. I can hardly wait for the return of the whooping cranes to the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge this fall. I plan on taking some pictures and putting them on this site so be ready for that sometime in late November or early December. Until then, Happy Yakking!! :D - Roger
