It was a great day at Jordan yesterday. Took my neighbor who wants to learn to sail and was able to scream up and down the lake with a west wind, flying a hull. That is no small feat considering he weighs 300 lbs. There were several Hobies and motorboat traffic was not bad.

I learned something that might help anyone who raises the mast alone. I had trouble with the trap wire bungees causing too much tension pulling against me, when I got the mast up, so I hooked them around the front corner castings. It held the wires straight and kept them out of my way. Another benefit was that I draped the shrouds inside the trap wires and they stayed away from the rear corner castings. It eliminated the potential problem of getting any of the wires snagged while trying to raise the mast.

Dustin, I hope you had I good day. Nice to meet you. Hope to see you out there again.

It was a great day at Jordan yesterday. I was pleasantly suprised the wind turned out so good. I also didn't know there was so many H16's in the area. There was at least 4 of us sailing in formation at one point.

Suse,

I remember when the beach was lined up with Hobies at Vista Point. The facility has deteriorated and in spite of the repair just completed on the docks, nothing was done on the beach launch area. One fellow got stuck in the mud and needed help to get out. I wonder if we could approach the administrators there and ask for some work on the ramps.
