Where to buy?

Is there any dealer that has a good online cataloge and cart system for ordering Hobie stuff I see in their cataloge?

I need a baby or mama bob - H194 - harness, battens, caps, lines for 3 boaots, lots of odds and ends hatch cover etc. Where can I do this on line?

Sunjammers seems to have online ordering. I emailed a closer dealer and he wanted me to call him (long distance) I hate calling on the phone. It's really hard to spend my money when it comes to hobie stuff! I've got 1000 bucks to play with and can't seem to spend it.

Might still be worth the call. Long distance calls are cheap now anyway, we are not in the 80s anymore.

The dealer I deal with is in another province, 4 hours away. While I can order some stuff online from him, his website screws me on shipping charges. 15$ per item. When I call him, he charges me 12$ per order unless it's oversized.

I have talked to him a few times now and starting to build a decent client/dealer relationship. When I need technical assistance now, I give him a call and he helps me.

Some people value that (I do), some don't, whatever rocks your boat.

Some online retailers have free shipping for orders larger than X$, so you don't necessarily need to limit yourself to nearby dealers.

eBay is a good source too, but you'll need to find your items one by one and possibly from different sellers.

I hate phones - I havent' had a cell phone since the 80's! Back then was the size of a backpack and a buck per minute. Just don't like the princible of it. I order everything I buy online and use to quick, easy... calls are a hassle.

Hobie Mirage Classic

Two dealers that I have done business with that have not already been mentioned are Backyard Boats (http://www.backyardboats.com) and Salty Dog Marine (http://www.saltydogmarine.com). All of my dealings with them have been on line, no phone calls. Both are good to work with. I particularly like Backyard Boats for Hobie parts. They have the Hobie parts catalogs on their website and you can order by Hobie part number. Their service is excellent.

I concur with Dave and forgot to mention BYB. They are my local store and have been awesome. I've walked in and talked to the guys extensively and they're always patient and helpful.

I've been buying online from Murrays for years. They actually stopped printing their catalog in '06 but most catalog part numbers are still valid. Also many older Hobie, Nacra and Prindle manufacturer part numbers will work in their online system.

+1 for Mariner Sails. Dealt with them on several occations, online and over the phone. Great service and fast shipping.
