I purchase a second hand Hobie Adventure for about 6 months and recently I discovered a problem whith the “pillar” (bolt and knob) who supports the mirage drive, as shown in the photo.
Is that the way to solve this rupture is the Older Outback / Adventure MirageDrive Well strengthening Kit?

This has been repaired by someone... If purchased used this way... may even be a hull we have already replaced, so provide a dealer with the serial number. We are always willing to review a claim.

This looks like this may be a 2006 model, and it appears that the reinforcement kit was not installed.

If a warranty pro-ration is not viable, order and install the retrofit kit from the nearest dealer (in the US this was sent out by Hobie at no charge -- don't know about Europe). It has longer cam bolts and will relieve the existing stress point. You should also reinforce the cam columns with either 3M Scotchweld DP8010 or Loctite 3030. If you look through the search feature here on the forum, you can see some suggestions on how to use these epoxies and where to get them. Here's a good place to start: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11245&hilit

A good indication of whether the retrofit kit has been installed is the fiberglass nose reinforcement shown here. Late '06 and newer models were reinforced at the factory and do not have the recess (shown here) at the bottom of the drivewell nose. Also in the picture you can see cam columns repaired with DP 8010 (effective if not pretty).

Good luck! 8)

Thanks for the precious information, in fact the model is 2006 (serial # CCMD0697L506) and was not enhanced by the reinforcement kit. However I am also in touch with Hobie Europe to try to solve the problem.
