Hi guys,

It's approaching winter and I'm thinking about giving my new 10 year old Hobie16 some TLC. This is my first boat, so please forgive the basic questions.

So anyhoo, what I want to do is seal the hulls and fix any nicks and dings. I live in Hong Kong so I'll have to leave the boat on the beach. The plan is to demast, remove rigging, flip it upside down and get to work. My question is... what do I need to do next? Sand it? Fill it with..? Gelcoat (?) it?

Any advice would really help.

Thanks,
HonkieHobie.

A lot depends on what shape it's in. Does it need a bottom job or just scratch repair?

Doing extensive repairs on the beach is not good. Sand gets into everything.
