Is it wrong to dream about sailing? I hope not cause I think I might take it to far. I have a Hobie 16 that I have restored and haven't put it in the water yet. I bought the boat back in August did some TLC to it and now it looks like a new penny. Not really because a penny is really small. So I take it off the trailer and set it down in some fluffy grass, raise the mast and the sails and sit on the rear casting. I haven't gotten my tramp yet in the mail but none the less I sit there and dream. I can feel the water gently rocking the boat hear the wind, I can because its windy here today, and see the sails fill ever so slightly. I clean hulls a bit and make sure the traveler is working correctly. You know, like taking care of an old car or a Hobie 16, something to that effect. The day ends and you must go inside because you forgot to put on sun screen and now you bald head is sunburned.

Is this wrong what I am doing, is it healthy? Guess not since you got a sunburn you idiot! Let me know and tell me if you feel this way to.

Good winds,
Joshua

You thought I was kidding, here's proof!!!

Is it wrong to dream...your dream of sailing soon is just a goal with a spring deadline.let's see more photos of your progress.

Pour some cold beer on that sunburn to feel better...

It is not wrong!

I have been working on my H18 over the winter and spent a whole day last weekend getting everything ready. I have been dreaming all week about getting the boat on the water this weekend and things were conspiring against me.

Yesterday I got it up to the lake, signed a lease on a dry slip at the marina (leave the mast up with a spot near the ramp) and actually got it out on the water for a sail. The wind was 15-20 and relatively steady for the lake, awesome sailing on a warm day (68F) in Atlanta. Now that everything is set up It will be a quick setup the next time.

I Love Sailing :D

Ah, sweet!

Been doing winter work on the FX as can find time to get things ready for the new year. (If you sail, the New Year starts about April 1!)

If I could just get distractions of work, house maintenance, kids, etc from going off the rails and interfering with the time...

Not to worry. Getting out on the water will turn the dream to reality. I too am working on my boat, bottom resurfacing. I plan to put it together this weekend and be on the water the next.

I checked out your link on restoring the boat, that is amazing :D

From the original picture I was thinking this was a 200X vintage new Hobie, looks great.

Keep dreaming the water will be here soon.
