Actually, it's not at sea, but on a lake. It is tidal waters though.

Due to my rocky beach, I plan to setup a mooring not too far from the shore. I'll store my boat out of the water on the beach, however to launch and to beach, I was thinking of paddling to and from the mooring and raise/lower the sails there.

I don't see any problems with the main, it's really easy, but how can I attach/detach the jib tack without getting in the water? That's where a furling jib would be nice.

I pondered this and gave up. I saw a guy with a H16 that a lazy-jack system for his main and a furling Jib so he could raise and lower both on the water. He didn't worry about getting the bead on the halyard in the notch, just tied it off at the base of the mast. He was not interested in speed as all that junk added extra lines and weight. It would be handy if the only launch was at a rocky area. Launching from a ramp where there is no beach and high winds is a disaster waiting to happen, at least with my boat. (learned the hard way :o )

By the overwhelming amount of responses, does not look like it's easily possible to raise or lower the jib once in the water.

I'm not a big fan of letting the jib flap, but also not a big fan of slamming into the rocky beach.

I've done it multiple times, it just takes a bit of courage to walk out on a hull and disconnect the sail. Good time to find out how your sea legs are! Once you can get a hand on the bridle it's not so bad, but getting there and back is the fun part.
