Flat black Rust-o-leum with a small amount of Penetrol mixed in. Sorry it took so long.

Nice, thanks for the pics guys. Havana, the black front crossbar looks so much better than my odd purpleish black I have on mine right now... Those tillers look awesome Maximus, might be the route I go with. Intrepid, even more curious now... will do a search for retailers around here.

Keep the ideas coming!

Will do.
It will not hold up to other metallic objects(mast, boom, my head) dragged across it. Otherwise it has a fairly good bite to it.
As with others who have gone this route, once or twice a year, touch up the scratches with your original "go to" product. 10 minutes or so and she's back looking new again.
I used to work in an area that performed powder coat painting for large diesel motor apps. Even under optimum controls, eventually even this baked on material would lose its' adhesion (electrolysis is some of the culprit) flake off in time. Especially aluminum married up with steel in salt water conditions. Anodize chemical process still the most effective process out there for longivity in my opinion. $$ though.
Rattle can, brush on paint is cheap, practical for the application, and removes easily if needed. Just keep it away from the hulls.

Ok, took all the lacing off the old tramp (hobie vinyl) to remove it today... but no dice. The thing is stiff as a board and will not bend enough for me to slide it out of the tracks. Does heating or wetting it help loosen things the tramp up? Any Suggestions welcome so I can touch up my crossbars.

Thanks.

Im not sure about a Hobie made trampoline but aftermarket one are typically polypropalyene which melts at around 260 degrees F so i wouldn't take a blow torch to it.

Haha, yeah I think I'd pass on the blow torch. Actually, a little afternoon sunlight, plyers, and some brute strength did the trick. Except for the rear piece, but managed to just tape it up instead. Crossbars will be black, debating on doing the corner castings too. Any thoughts?

I've done it several times and it holds up just swell, so far its been two years and still look great. I just some all purpose spray paint from Lowes either black or aluminum color and it turns out great. takes about 2 of the bigger cans to do all your crossbars and the mast. I clean them real good with rubbing alcohol or laquer thinner...

Max;
I used the appliance epoxy on my cross bars and tiller parts too, they came out great!!! less one upper casting, it alligatored the paint on the top and one side pretty bad, used 120 on the DA then M.E.K before painting three coats. guess I missed something on that one.

One a side note; looking at your last pic, is the bolt that connects the tiller cross bar to the upper casting arms suposed to be straight? during disassembly of the port side I found it bent, about 30 deg. and thought uh-oh, then when the other side came apart I said ....well maybe. Because it is bent the same, about 30 deg.

appilance epoxy spray paint is only for use indoors, as stated on the can. I'd be worried about it with water and UV.
