I have a few soft spots on the boat I just bought and have been bringing back to life. I found a product by Aeromarine which does the same thing Git Rot does(so the literature says), but at a quarter of the price($83 for 1.5G). It's a low viscosity 300/21 two part epoxy which begins to set up in 30 minutes and hardens in 24 hours. Has anyone used or heard of this product? Might there be a chance there could be a bad reaction with the core styrofoam in the hull? It's the "quarter of the price" part that bugs me. Got to be a catch. Any thoughts?

Epoxy does not chemically attack styrene foam (styrofoam) - it's polyester resin that does that. In any event, the foam in the core is not styrofoam - it's a urethane foam that's resistant to chemical attack.

Git Rot is a medium-viscosity resin. I'm not sure how a "low-viscosity" resin would work. It might be too thin, but you won't know until you try it.

Well, after scouring the internet for info on this product, I bit the bullet and bought some. I 'll let you know how it goes.
