I don't see the maintenance being that mush higher from the H-18 to the tiger for rec sailing. racing its more but for rec sailing it's not that much. 1 to 2 extra lines to replace yearly. IMO

I certainly appreciate all the advice, I've narrowed my range quite a bit and will be on the lookout. I'll try to get by a dealer in order to eyeball and/or demo the Getaway, but will primarily focus on finding a late model 18 or Tiger. I would probaly rather find a boat that is ready to sail than a fixer-upper, but will look at those as well.
