I have been looking around for a newer mainsail for my Hobie 16...
I've looked at craigslist and ebay... but have not been able to find anything close by... i am on the west coast of Canada... has anyone bought from this company???
and now i might go new...

I'm not an expert, I just went by what the ad said. Looking back, I don't see the small official Hobie tag near the tack of the jib and main.

What else can you use to determine authenticity?

The colors look off - like it's new knock-off, but that could just be the photos. Some of the close ups show a sail that's seen better days.

There is no sailmaker patch - that's the definitive indication. Sometimes the patch has come off, leaving an unfaded area that's that right size/shape so that you'd know it was a Hobie Sail.

That one does have the correct fittings (batten end caps, head plate) of a stock sail of that vintage (late '70s early '80s).

The seller it is the guy that started the new fleet in Utah.

They are not factory sails.

In my response I stated IMO, I'd edit the ad to reflect the fact they're NOT Hobie sails.
