I have a comp tip main halyard that came with my boat, but it's useless to me. I also need to replace my jib sheet because it's too big. Can I use the rope from the main halyard to make a jib sheet or will it be too small?

Size is pretty good. Skin is slick though. Give it a try or sell the halyard.

Previous owner used it. It would not hook because the steel leader was too short and it started to fray where the rope rubbed on the hook. So it's useless as a halyard now, so I'm trying to use the rope for something. I need 30 feet of line for my main halyard, I might use some for that. It's larger than what is called for a non-comptip, but would not really matter there.
