We just adquired a 16, serial # ends in "00". We named her " Sol de Miel"
( Honey-Sun ). :D :D :D :D
I am a long time power boater, but after many years of fuel-burning, decided to try sailing, and because I was always "visually in love" with H16`s, we adquired one finally after selling our beloved 20' Wellcraft "Cuchuca".
We have no knowledge whatsoever about Sailing, so, we are learning tons of new things.
We adquired her a month ago, and now after learning and working on jigs to easily raise the mast among other tweaks and cosmetic repairs, we are ready to lunch her to the Blue.
Any, I mean, ANY good advise will be much apreciated !!!!!
And please let us know if you are coming to P.R., we will be glad to welcome you and help you to enjoy your visit to "Party Island" !!!
Will post pictures as soon as I figure how to....
Juan

Hello back at you Juan. Re picture posts, search on 'using images in forum posts'. Here's some addt'l info which may help. It can be a bit of a struggle.

I opened an acct (free) at http://www.photobucket.com.
Then uploaded a test picture to my new account there from my laptop.
Next, following Matts instructions, started a new post and clicked the 'Img' button on the top of the page where you type in your new topic info.
After you click 'Img', the word img|img will appear in the message field.
Now, go back to photobucket, find your uploaded picture, right click on it, take properties, then highlight the Address,URL. make sure it is a JPEG file, you will see that in the address link you highlighted.
After highlighting the address, (it will be surrounded in blue) right click on it and click on copy.
Now go back to new topic on hobie website and put your mouse on the verticle line between Img | Img and right click and paste.
You should be done.

Havana, I grew up in Anasco ( West Coast ), town next to Rincon, but now live in San Juan, and actually work on the Main Airport.

West coast, GREAT place. Especially NW around Caba Rojo.
The wife (from Orocovis) and I spend time in the area.

San Juan? Why man, why?... :D

Daydream,
San Juan was an escape from an ex-wife who almost ( if not ) got me insane !!!
Orocovis is the exact center of Puerto Rico, and a beautiful place indeed !!!! Most beautiful women are born in that town !!!! I know a few people from there, including Cuatro Guitar Master player Edwin Colon Zayas ( a great an down to earth Gentleman and good friend ).
We visit Cabo Rojo every couple of months, and we go to La Parguera in the town of Lajas. Actually, we are planning a trip to go sailing those waters soon. I hope I learn how to post pictures soon.

Johnnymoto, I, until just the other day, worked out of the San Juan airport. You don't work for Eagle do you? I transferred to MIA. This site is filled with good advice on any Hobie 16 topic you care to name. You'll find it a very valuable resource to get info, share stories, or simply discuss sailing. Welcome.

Maximus I work for the FAA as a Nav/Comm Tech at the Center at SJU, but used to work for US Customs in Ramey as an Avionics Tech for a long time. Know a lot of great Techs and Pilots from Eagle that now work for USC. Although the Hobie group gets together at the Balneario next to the Airport, I rather go to Fajardo for boating. If you ever come back let me know, and if you need anything call me at 787-948-7790.
