I have a 1980 hobie and it has anchor plates under the shrouds that are different then what is in the hobie catalog. It looks as if a half circle was welded to the U shape piece under the deck lip. There are 4 bolts going through the half circle into the hull. Are these oem?

I actually have a set of anchor plates off a newer doner boat but I dont think swaping to the newer style would be worth it...

Yea, I've seen that style anchor plate on some older boats. If it's lasted this long, then there's probably no point in changing it now. Just check that the weld isn't cracked and most likely it's fine. Those older boats were pretty bomb proof.

I have a couple in my basement. I thought they were homemade.... so I didn't use them.
