Surf City - thanks for the tip...I'll wear one for the next round. The print is soooooo small on the label, I missed that point.

When I bought my 1st 16 I didn't know what a blister was and it had thousands of them. I thought I could just sand down the surface and refinish but Nooooo.
Long story short I took off all of the gel-coat and fiber mat. Repaired all the problems, shaped the hulls to the template on the Hobie site and then added an extra 1.5" to the bottom of the hulls. Rolled on 9 coats of West systems epoxy, primed and painted. Boat has been great for the past 7 years. I've scratched the paint here and there but she has held up well.

Nice looking work! What sort of paint did you use as the finish coat...and how many coats did you apply?

Thanks for the compliment, not something I would want to do again but I did learn a lot about fiberglass and epoxy. And ways to do it better if I had too.
I used a paint called Uraglow by Blue Water Marine. It's a 2-PART MARINE TOPSIDE URETHANE ENAMEL. I bought a whole gal and used up just about all of it just so I wouldn't have some around for a couple of years going bad. If I remember right, when you add the 2nd part if makes it a full gal. and not more than.
Real easy to spray too.
