Picture this (sorry)

stand in front of the forward beam, facing aft.
tie the end of a piece of bungee to the dolphin striker rod,
~ half way between the striker post (which is directly under the mast) and the hull.
Route the free end up, in front of the beam, behind the diamond wire on the mast,
in front of the mast, behind the diamond wire on the "other" side,
down, in front of beam, tension, and tie off ~ half way between the striker post and the hull, on the "other" side.

keeps the jib sheet out of the gap between the mast base & the beam

Contact me off line at lunnjohn at magma dot ca, and I'll gladly send you a PDF pencil sketch. If you know how to post that on this Forum once you receive it....

The sketch also shows how to tie off 1/8" bungee cord to the lower ring on the jib block on one side, through the drain hole in the tramp, underneath the tramp, then up through the other drain hole to the other jib block.....helps keep the the blocks upright, stops them flopping around and tangling up the jib sheet.
