Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been keeping in touch. For some reason I haven't been getting emails that replies have been posted in this thread. I wouldn't mind sailing with either of you two. I usually set out at the park that's on the corner of Pineda and US1.

Scott over and Performance Sail said that it's possible to launch the boats on the beach (ocean) somewhere in the Cocoa Beach area. I forgot the name of the park or else I'd list it. Anyways, he said you'd need cat wheels in order to get the boat down there, but there's a place to raise the mast ...I might try it one of these days if I get ballsy; I've never sailed through the surf!

I'll be heading up to Daytona tomorrow morning as I'm crewing for my friend Steve in the race that's there this weekend (should be fun!)

My spinnaker kit finally came in and I'm going to try to install it the Sunday after this coming Sunday. Feel free to shoot me an email so that maybe we can set something up to get together! [email protected]

Used to be able to launch off the Melbourne Causeway; it's been a while since I've been there however. Great sailing on the Indian River.

I've been wondering where I can get out to sail on the ocean. Besides going down to Sebastian, are there any good places closer to Melbourne?

I'd try to hook up with the local Hobie Fleet or other hobie sailors and see what they recommend. Sailing down to Sebastian Inlet in a good breeze can take only an hour from the cause way. I never sailed off the beach in Melbourne. Off the beacch sailing was reserved for Daytona. I'm now up in Massachusetts.

I talked to Scott over at Performance Sail and he told me that there is a place we can launch off on the beach as I've been wanting to sail on the ocean myself as well. He told me to head up to Fisher Park in Cocoa Beach (it's north of Coconuts) and there's a trail wide enough to take the Hobie through (you just need cat trax, which I lack.) You wouldnt be able to back a trailer down there, but you could step your mast and then drag it down the beach.

Come sailing this coming Saturday (the 25th) at Kelley Park! The last Saturday of every month Fleet 45 and locals get together to sail. Kelley Park is located off of 520 on the east side of Merritt Island (go south from the 520 exit and Kelley Park is right on the river.) We just raced yesterday and the day before up in Daytona and there's a few of us that's going to get together this coming weekend.

I hope to see you out there!
