So, this weekend was the Ingeneering faculty opf the Veracruz University Reggata, here in Veracruz, México.

The reggata was mostly composed of smaller than H16 sail boat. Lasers, Optimistes, Flying Tern. And some other boats like J.24's and H18.

The H16 "division" was just 3 boats, which could be seen as very few but we all knew we weren't going to be many.

The first day (Saturday) was a slow wind by day, great winds by sunset. But to be quite honest with you floks, after the first circuit I was f'ing exhausted and didn't participate on the second windier circuit.

It's was my first time in a reggata and my third time sailing a hobie. I was the skipper and my crew (which we call Jibber, as in jib, but in Spanish, Foquero) had no Hobie and little other sailing experience.

The other two Hobies were guys with a lot more experience in both reggata and sailing and got like 2 bouys of distance.

I was the last of all the boats, except for some newbies in the Optimist category.

Today was even better, we had a lot of fun with just one circuit I cut the distance making it to 2nd place.

I love my Hobie, as this was the first time I actually sailed it since I bought it.

Hope anyone who did read this knows what I'm talking about.

Everyone, hope you have Hobie days like mine.

Greetings, from Veracruz Mexico

You mean, the first time you ever sailed your Hobie was in a race/regatta???

WOW. That is fantastic.

What a great experience!!!

G'day from Australia.

Rob.

Yeip, first time was during the reggata, but I had little experience with my friend's Lasers, so I "knew" what i was doing.
Emphasis in the " "
