I just tried my turbo fins and larger rudder wow!

As some of you may know I recently bought a Revo, on Friday I received my turbo fins and larger rudder, I installed them intermediately. So I went out on Sunday for a test run and man o man what a difference. Rudder is so much responsive and I'm some much faster with the turbos. Also the resistance to the pedals appears to be minor, and I tired a lot less.

So I just wanted to share that, I'm very happy with my new kayak, can't wait to go out the next weekend.

Are you in Costa Rica? I've been there a couple of times--my favorite place was the Osa Peninsula. Stayed at Bosque Del Cabo while there.

Back to Hobies ... I'm about to buy a Mirage myself. Glad to hear about the rudder and turbos, as I will also be using mine in the ocean.

Yes, I'm here in Costa Rica, Osa is one of the most beautiful areas of the country, one of the most remote and full of wild life.

You are going to like those turbos going against wind. A lot easier.

What is the brand of the Rod Holders in front?

About a decade ago on a very hot/sunny day on the American River in Sacramento, I was taking an all day lesson with the two handed fly rods.

Fortunately the fly shop sponsor sent one of his fly fishing reps down the line with the Glacier Solar Fishing gloves. I put a pair on and have used them since them. I wished that I had used then when I was 16 instead of 60 at that time.

Now, they have even better gloves with a higher SPF of 50.

A few years ago we went to a friend's marriage in Floriduh in September.

Instead of batchelor parties the guys had 3 days of guided fly fishing.

I wore my Tilley hats, Under Armor Shirts, the Solar Gloves and a Tarpon Buff mask. Most of the other guys got some severe burns, I didn't add to my decades of solar skin damage, and I was basically cool for the 3 days.

It was hot and humid, and I sweated like a pig, but the sun clothes pulled the moisture out and off of me. I was able to keep hydrated and casting with a two handed switch rod for the 3 days and caught/released a lot of fish daily. Most of the other guys were on their seats trying to hydrate and not casting.

Here in Costa Rica sun protection is vital, I always use UV protection 60.

While testing my Revolution (13) the first time out, I brought all 3 of my mirage drives. The one with the ST Turbo fins pushed the Revo to a full 7MPH (according to my Garmin GPS unit) for a pretty good distance - about a half mile. I could do 4.5MPH for hours on end.

It's a fast boat compared to my Outback or PA, although I think both of those do very well all things considered. I still can't paddle anything as fast as I can pedal them.
