No pics, but I had my first SOT kayak experience last week. Honestly though, can't say I was thrilled for 2 reasons....

First, this was on a Emotion Co-Motion Tandem paddle yak....so, my wife was in the front and lets just say that our synchronization wasn't really on par. I can say that next time, we're getting singles :D That's #1....

#2 is the seat or something. After about an hour, my back was cramping big time. I'm a big guy as well (6' and a smidge over 250), and my big @ss was wedged in the seat to where it became pretty uncomfortable.

I'd hate to imagine what it would be like a month ago, because a month ago I weighed a little over 270 :) That's right, weight loss baby :D

Anyway, this leads me to a question of interior cockpit width on the Revo and OB? I know I could fit in the PA, but the Co-Motion is listed at 32" wide, while the Revo is only listed at 28.5", and the OB at 33" with some pretty serious outboard side rails.

As I said though, I was in the back so maybe that's the reason why. Should have put my wife's little behind back there :D

Can anyone give some feedback as to the interior seating width of both the Revo and OB? Another question is if anyone can either tell me, or guess what the width of the rear seat area in the Co-motion may be?

Other than that, it was a blast being on the water and able to just drift and enjoy the water. After about an hour, we started to get into synch with paddling and got cookin' pretty fast a couple of times :D We also passed a lady on a Hobie Sport....I was soooo jealous :(

I stand 6'2 and weigh in at 310,
I used to own a Hobie Oasis (tandem) which I used solo about 95%
of the time, (having to put approx 50 pounds ballast up front). then after purchasing a Hobie Revolution 13 for the wife,
I soon found that even with turbo fins on the oasis, I was hard pressed to keep up when we went out for a peddle.
I now have a Revolution 13 myself, and its fantastic, with turbo fins, I can go about 4 mph for 2 hours an not feel any discomfort.
I might also mention that I love being on the water, but hate being in it, I have found the Revolution 13 to be quite stable.

Thanks for the response. If you don't mind me askin', what is your waist size? Mine is a 38....Most of my weight is centralized in the lower frame of my body....large legs, but, it's nice when it's needed :D I know when I meet some people and they tell me they weigh like 230, but have HUGE bellies, I'm pretty surprised, as are they when I tell them I weigh 250 :)

My thought process right now is leaning towards the purchase of 2 revos....
1 reason is that I live next to Lake Powell which is a traverse of multiple miles at times just to get somewhere (like 5+). Second, my wife would get a revo as well, and I have an idea for a catamaran setup. Not quite sure if it would hold though. I think the Adventure would with the reinforced attachment points, but not sure on a Revo.

Anyway, thanks again for the response.
