OK, this may be the dumbest post you have seen here, but bare with me as I'm a newbie.

I just got my Revo and I love it, I transport it on the roof racks of my SUV, last weekend it was the first time I used it at the beach, so it was the first time loading and unloading there.

Here is the thing, when I landed the kayak a lot of sandy water got into the seat and most of top part of the kayak leaving a lot of sand on top of it. I tried to splash some of the sand of with the water from the waves and it was ok, now it was time to drag the kayak on the sand to the car, so the bottom of it got dry sand all over the bottom. So I pick up the kayak and put it on top of the SUV and there is sand everywhere, the hull starts loosing some sand on top of the car, some of the water from the top of the kayak falls in the car (top of the kayak is upside down), well basically it was a mess.

Do you guys have any tricks or tips to make this part of the experiences a bit cleaner? I mean I got home and spent hrs hosing down both the car and the kayak, and I can still see sand coming out in some spots after a few days. Even after driving in the rain almost everyday since.

What do you do when there are no facilities to wash your kayak before loading it back into your car?

Thanks in advance
Dan

Seriously, I use the trolly to get across sandy beaches or just carry it. But I rack in the back of a pick up, so mess is less of a bother.

You can buy one of those 2 gallon plastic pump up bug sprayers filled with water. Keep it in the trunk handy and just spray off the kayak before loading. They come in different shapes, sizes & capacities.

Ok, now this is a great idea. I'm also getting a cart to reduce the amount of sand on the kayak.
Thank you sir.

Hey, SedonaAL, I like your take out spot on the rocks!!! Do you have other pict of the area. Don't worry about me trying to get to your honey hole.... I live in Texas and won't be in your area for a few weekend anytime soon.

I put all the stuff in the car 1st then lift the yak over my head in the water. Then I carry it upside down on my head to the roof rack on the car.
