Hey Pirate

I like his nick. (as long as he hasn't eaten any Burritos and he is up-wind of me, hehehe)

True, I started the 'Wind' factor for simple comic relief.
(Hell's Bells the Islands are 'Fun Boats' so why not have fun poking with the 'schtick'?)

The trick is to figure out the obvious bullsheit...from the 'real' info.

I know it's not that hard for most of us to know the difference.

Yet being the Jester comes at a cost....

I'll pay the price as I'm having a hoot in doing it.

(I'm also sharp enough not to mess with advice info asked of by new members of the fleet. That would not only be unkind but could ppl in danger. There are comedic limits when it could possibly compromise the comfort and safe handling of any sailcraft. That line will never be crossed!)

(Btw: Passwind, I haven't smoked anything other than Cigarettes for the last 30 years,)

Regards
Trinowind...

PLEASE tell me these seat pegs can retro-fit! Can they?!?

Despite roughing up the holes on my TI, nothing will hold those seat pegs in.

Not something we are recommending. The new fittings require tapping the peg holes. That, if done incorrectly, could damage a hull. Not a risk we are willing to take as we could be on the hook for a replacement hull because we suggested it.

If you want a solid seat and your pegs just don;t work... I'd consider gluing the older style pegs into the holes and screwing the seats in like they were on the early model Mirage models.

Reminder, I do not get a chance to read every post, so if you have a direct question... email or PM me the question or a link to you post. Especially on long running topics.

On the seat pegs, I bought a pair of the adjustable ones from the dealer when I went to pick up my replacement hull. I'm sure you can bother Matt or a dealer for the part number, but basically, it's a peg with a diagonal slit in it and a bolt through it. Tighten the bolt, the peg halves try to separate along the slit, taking up more space as they do. You can tighten the bolt enough to make them REALLY stick in the holes. If you worked at it, you might even be able to tighten them enough to actually damage the holes. Obviously, no reason to go that far.

I have mine adjusted to a snug fit, so that I can insert and remove them without adjustment.

I never had a problem with my pegs coming out. The reason I bought these was because my dog ate the pegs off my seat, and they were in stock. I am very happy with them.

The culprit:

Hah! That pic was an instant classic.

My dog, like his father and the rest of the litter, smiles at people to greet them. His father made me a bit nervous when I first met him, alone in his yard. This dog comes walking up to me, wagging his tail and looking in every way friendly, but showing me every tooth in his mouth. I reached out to let him take a sniff, but was not entirely sure I was going to have a hand when we were done.

He was super friendly, and the owners explained to us that he just smiles. The whole litter did it too, from the time they opened their eyes.

Now I have to explain to people that this is Luke's friendly greeting face:

We have had several dogs that "smile" - mostly greyhounds. Most people don't believe it.

I don't believe it. We had a greyhound. He was far too lazy to smile.

Mocha knows how to smile as well. I even taught her to do it by hand command - its hysterical because unlike this pic, its just a quick flash and then back to a closed mouth. I freaked out quite a few people giving her the hand signal without them seeing ... and them getting all upset saying "She just showed me her teeth !!!"

BTW, Mocha's the one on the left :D

I'll see if she's game for a quick vid of her flashing those pearly whites tonite and post it up - it really is quite funny

We're way off topic here, but I'll post one more pic since it is water-related at least...

... We were camping near a lake and Mocha woke me up. thinking she had to pee, I crawled out of the tent and I don't know what made me grab the camera as I exited but I did.

She took me down to the waters' edge and she just sat there. I seriously think she woke me just so I could take this picture of her and so she could watch the sunrise. The apparent "haze" is actually lake mist rising from the water as the cool air rolls down the mountain and hits the warm water. It very kewl as it rises in small wispy columns not as a fog blanket.

- hope you all enjoy

Now that's a great photo!
I think it would look good on stretched canvas.
