Ok here is the story. I got laid off about seven months ago. I have not had any luck finding a job. But what I did find was a new hobby. I have had a fishing camp on a salt water lake but I never got a boat yet. And now with no job 40k plus is totally out of the question. So one day a used Pelican kayak came along a sit inside about ten foot long so I bought it and put it at the camp and when I would go out there I would just look at it. It sure didn't make me want to jump in it from the looks of it it is a Pelican. Finally one day I thought I would try it and maybe get a lil excersize and I went back and told my wife that it was pretty fun. So the next day I got on Craigslist And found someone that wanted to trade a Pelican Castaway 11.6 feet long for a gun. So I traded him. And man I thought I was in the Cadillac of the sea I love it man it just does not get any better than this! My sister and husband had bought Hobie Outbacks and I thought they had lost there mind paying that for a kayak! So I called them to see if I could buy them dirt cheap and they told me no they loved them. So I got to thinking maybe I don't have the Cadillac of the sea. So I went back on Craigslist and found someone that wanted to trade a Ocean kayak Scupper Pro for guns and it had a rudder i had no clue what that was. So I traded him and now I finally realized that I was at the top of the mountain. Man I had me a machine!! Plus during this period I started catching fish out of the kayak like crazy out fishing big expensive boats and loving it! So I then traded on Craigslist for a jet ski (Mothership) and trl for you guessed it guns. Now my kayaking life is complete so I thought. After looking into Hobie and seeing what ever one was saying about them I knew I needed one for me and my wife. I was gona wait till the 2012 came out and get an AdVenture and maybe a Revo. And then I read how much fun the sailing was so I decided to get either two Adventure islands or one Adventure tandem neither one was in my budget but heck it does not hurt to dream rite? I figured by the spring I would be working and a tandem would be no problem. So I am on a Hobie dealers email list and what do know he sent me email stating he was having a close out on 2011 models. I figured that even if they were on sale I could not afford to buy one so I did not call. Then one day I called and they said they would sale me a 2011 adventure for$1299.00 new not the color I want I like yellow but Dune is ok for that price so I put it on Layaway! I could not find one used around here for that price! I am pumped up no I have never sat in a Hobie nor have I paddled or pedaled one but I just know I am gona love it! They also have a 2010 in red and orange for that price. I figure that when I get back to work I will get the island kit. I am so excited I can't wait to try it out. Ps I have not told my wife yet! I bet she will be excited! As she says sometimes it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Butch,

A suggestion:

Pay the balance on the Adventure layaway and purchase the Island Kit with your wifes guns. That way when you tell your wife, if she's not excited with the purchase, you will be much safer.

Yes and that mess is getting smaller. I really can not get over the price am I missing something 1299 for a new 2011 Adventure? Heck I could not find a used one any where close to that price.
