Our waters here in N California compared to many places would be considered mild.

However after a couple of hours in wind and water/air temps in the 40-50 degree range, fingers and hands can get on the cold side.

What types of gloves are recommended for waters in the 40-50 degree, ones that can be used for fishing, paddling, landing a fish? They should be workable for the tasks, dry and warm.

Cold water diving gloves should work well. I've dove the west coast and yes after 30-40 min in the water it can be very cold.

Check out the fishing gloves section at Bass Pro Shops or other fishing store. They have a nice selection.
