I'm interested in getting into sailing, and I'm looking to purchase a hobie 16

The one I'm looking to buy, the owner says it needs a new trampoline, as well as new ropes (he said the boat needs new ropes, not sure what all that means)

How much should I expect that to cost?

thanks

At the very worst you're looking at $400 for the tramp, and roughly $150 for new sheets (ropes).

You could probably find a used tramp on ebay, or craigslist. From what I've heard the Hobie tramps hold up way better than the much less expensive aftermarket ones.

Honestly though, if the tramps just ugly I'd just clean it up a bit and replace it later.

Actually on second thought, I'd get him to clarify about the ropes; he could be talking about the ropes that keep the tramp tight. I think that you could probably just use the 50' for $5 Wal-Mart special.

Good luck,

Adam
