Two years ago I learned of Hobie pedal drive Kayaks and was immediately very interested. I finally scraped enough money to get a used 2009 Outback. I fell immediately in love with my little boat but also immediately noticed water in the hull - a small crack in the drive well.

After talking with a local dealer last fall (just hoping to get advice on how to repair it), he contacted Hobie on my behalf. Well to my amazement, they offered to replace the hull! What?? Yes! The entire hull! I keep my Mirage drive, seat, and paddle. The rest will be new!

This weekend I picked up my new Yak. All was as promised. Hobie was even so thoughtful that they included the new twist-lock pegs for my older seat, and new axle to upgrade my Mirage.

I am so happy and impressed with this company. I bought a brand new Revo11 for my wife on the spot without any hesitations.

Everywhere I go, friends and neighbors, I tell my Hobie goodwill story. Everyone is amazed at such customer service - so rare these days. I'm sure this will result in several new Kayak sales as my friends are just now realizing what these Kayaks can do and how perfect they are on our nearby beautiful reservoir.

Thankyou and keep up the good work Hobie. As I said above ... you have earned a customer for life! :D

I had an almost identical customer service experience following a crack in a 2nd hand boat I bought. I too was pretty amazed and genuinely impressed at Hobie's willingness to support me - even at the very farthest reaches of the known universe - but thats just another part of the Hobie difference: Further, Faster, Fun and Fabulous Customer Service!

I have purchased 5 kayaks from Hobie and 2 sailboats over the years. I too am a customer for life. They are the best for customer satisfaction and overall quality. I used to work at a kayak shop (they didn't sell Hobie) and I would always silently compare other products and companies to Hobie. None would come close (eddyline were nice though  ).

It's so nice to here these stories.

Btw, I have never had any problem with any of my jaks or boats, not one. It's good to know if ever I do, Hobie will be there to help.
