Hi everyone, I can't seem to set enough mast rake on my 79. At best I'm able to get into the 4th hole from the top (barely) on the shroud adjusters and we're a fairly light team. 275lbs total weight.

I'm putting the forestay in the top hole if the forestay adjuster. Do I have a short forestay wire??? How long should it be on a 1979 setup??

Am I missing something? How much force is used to pull the side shrouds down into the adjuster?

Yes, It is quite possible the forestay is short. Add an extra 10 hole adjuster to make the system longer.
