I just wanted to get some opinions about tacking, because I have heard 2 different things.
Basically, when you tack, what do you do?
Do you turn the rudder to tack, leave the jib as is, and once the boat turns a little bit away from the wind to the opposite side, then uncleat the jib and put it to the other side? (basically, the idea is the jib helps you turn or tack)
OR do you turn the rudder and move the jib to the other side as fast as you can?
I actually learned to sail a little less than a week ago, and have been out 3 times now, and each time for ~6 hours. I can say I have learned alot, and can go extremely fast now, usually beating most of the other cats around me, as well as the occasional motorboat
Its just that today I wasnt tacking as easy as I was before, and wanted to hear some thoughts.
