So, after fixing up a '73 H14 all summer, I was looking for a Turbo kit on craigslist, and ended up getting a '83 H14 Turbo less a tramp and shroud wires, with extra main, a much nicer trailer, cat box and all, for a benjamin.

its good, but I had like spent so many man hours on that 73, fixing the mast base piece, sealing it up, replacing and retieing battens, replacing all the standing rigging and most of the running rigging, cleaning and scrubbing EVERYTHING, replacing destroyed cams, and finally sanding and painting it with interlux brightsides. Actually, the day i did the last coat, i got the offer for the boat.

but, the 83 is much newer, and has no soft spots or dings at all, while the 73 had previous damage which was professionally repaired.

so this isnt really a question as more of a like feeling of dismay which must be shared. on the one hand, i got a great boat for nothing, and on the other, the boat that became my blood needs to be sold because i dont have room (or need) for two.

anyone else have weird stories like that, feelings theyd like to share?
i sound like a Sailors Anonymous Meetings leader.

Peter,

I just have to say that you always have the best names for you boats. "Yellowtail Tuna", "Hungry Hungry Hippo" and now "Abominable Snowman" great great stuff.
