Good looking crew. What type of cat? They look similar to Bengals.

No AI, no word. Catalina by kayak almost certainly a 2007 thing.

It will be sweeter for the wait, I guess.

Hey DW ...
Make no mistake, these two monkey's are both card carrying black belt Bengals. I guess the CAT-alina trip be more enjoyable then with ample time to prepare and sort things out. More time for recon..more time in the boat..more time to train the crew

Happy Friday

This is waaay off topic, but I love Bengals. My crew is exclusively Bengals, though I am considering opening tryouts for a Savannah or two.

Thanks for the great pictures.

Catalina will happen. I should be able to get the powerboat scouting circumnavigation in this year. Hopefully the Hobie AI will show up and I can work on the rigging and equipping.

In the meantime I am constantly adding gear and trip ideas from web and other resources. I will post summaries of the planning from time to time.

It would be great to put together a small fleet of AI and other yak sailors and paddlers to do various stages of the trip. Some could do crossings, some could do parts or all of the circumnavigation, either on their own yaks shipped to the island or even rental yaks. Some could do the whole round trip from Newport, whatever would work for them.

I plan to meet / hire some Catalina yak guides for local fisihing tips, maybe diving tips, etc. as part of the whole experience, too.

It will be an open invitation deal - and a great adventure!
