Apologies, I didn't clarify that very well...the foam block is set in the bed near the rear and that's where the front quarter of the PA is "cradled" and the hold down strap is in the same general area. The downward force of the strap could cause "oil canning" of the hull in hot weather (South Florida), the foam block helps disperse the pressure.*

*Note- I baby my boats because they go back the dealer at the end of the year and are sold......I know others that show their PA's no mercy and the boats hold up great, so how you treat the boat is your call.
