Just thought I would post the photos of my Dune PA12 with it's new SeaDek panels, in Army Camo...the $110 pre fab kit advertised on their website. The kit was delivered in 2 days for $26 and change, and everything fit just fine. No problems installing. I couldn't be more satisfied. Cannot understand why some of you are having problems.

Looks good Rich. Apparently custom and the PA12 just don't mix well. Noticed the PDF cut sheet is missing both under seat pads and the pads next to the seat in the rod wells.....not impressed.

Hi Kevin, we have used this same PDF for multiple customers with the same kayak as you. Only way to be sure and correct fit is a dry fit, however, doing this will add time to your order and hinder us from making your already expedited lead times. Please advise how you wish to proceed. Thank you.
Above is the response from Seadek.

The measurements are inches off not fractions...there is no way that PDF was used on a PA12. Probably canceling my order, or going with off the shelf cuts.

Seadek looks great, but it sounds like their customer service is downright terrible. Check out OceanGrip. They are making kits for the PA14 and 12 w/ a large piece up front in stead of all those tiny pieces jumbled together. Oh yea their kit includes the rear area too.

BTW a 12x24 piece for my casting platform cost me $55 from OceanGrip, Seadek quoted $159! Provided that I like it, I will be going w/ them.

KJV, not sure which pads you are referring to. Unless I am not understanding which pads you are referring to, I have both under seat pads and rod well pads, too. The kit they sent me was exactly what their website showed. I know the lure pads weren't included, but they are only part of the custom kit.

I have read many posts complaining about SeaDek's customer service, and keep wondering what is going on. Like SRAces says, if you want good customer service, talk to Paige. That's what I did, and I am very pleased with the service I have had. I have sent her several emails, and get an almost immediate response. When I ordered my 1st kit, it was shipped the same day and delivered 2 days later. My guess is that their business is booming, and they are hiring new people that don't know all about their product yet. I also checkout OceanGrip for samples. Here is a direct quote from their website..."OceanGrip offers 2”x 2” samples of their EVA close cell foam. We can ship anywhere in the US and Canada for a low rate of $5.00 per sample plus shipping cost." That compares to SeaDek's price of $4 for as many samples as you wish. My 7 samples from SeaDek cost $4. The same 7 samples from OceanGrip would have been $35 + whatever the shipping cost would be. That alone is enough for me to be concerned about. Again, I think your customer service issue is just with someone that shouldn't really be in that dept.

For those of you that might not be aware, SeaDek recently moved out of there older facility to a bigger facility in the past few weeks. Their business is growing in a lot of areas besides kayaks. I know the SeaDek kayak business is growing quickly as I am on other forums (non-Hobie) where folks are ordering kits or getting custom kits made. I have also communicated with one of the VPs at SeaDek to get sponsorship for the Jax Kayak Classic in May.

The whole confusion around the logos I designed and even my initial custom kit being sent to someone even before I had mine was probably due to some of those growing pains and not everyone at SeaDek being familiar with the kayak side of the business. Like Richard stated, Paige Brewer is the ideal person to communicate with, especially if you want to use the three versions of my logos that are allowed. Paige is great to deal with and is probably the best person to talk to regarding a Pro Angler kit.

It's your choice if you don't think the customer service or the SeaDek is worth it. I'm just commenting to help everyone get the most information they can so they can make a decision that is right for them. BTW...I don't get anything in return for pushing the product. It's just a great addition for a Pro Angler that folks should consider.

I was told to talk to Paige as well and she was helpful for one email and then never heard from her again. Probably just got lost in her inbox

I have been dealing with Paige through the whole process. The customer service has been fine. They seem to have 3 different rear deck templates...none which fit my PA12. They have shipped custom PA12 kits including rear deck pieces with no complaints. I have verified my kayak is not some casting fluke from the factory at my local Hobie dealer. I am getting a stock kit in the mean time as well as template material to end the PA12 chaos once and for all. I will get a rear deck kit made to my template to finish off my installation in the very near future.

My custom PDF did not show those cuts. I was told the PDF file was only the custom cuts from the CAD department. All of the other pads were to be included. I just jumped the gun a little due to my frustration. I was not getting an off the shelf kit Rich, this has contributed to my problems.

Try Paige again. I just spoke to the VP of SeaDek. The move has been disruption and is still ongoing. Their business has exploded in all areas and the move has been a huge challenge coupled with the new business. They sincerely want to take care of the kayak requests. SeaDek is in the process of uploading a lot more kits online. They have been helped by a lot of folks in the area bringing in a lot of different kayaks and were able to template them using their in-house digitizing equipment versus the mylar template route. Not sure if that includes the PA12 with less pieces or a rear cargo area.

Gemitaur,

I'm sure they will get your order out soon. I mentioned that a few Canadian folks expressed concern about getting SeaDek shipped they way and was told there should be no issues because it's to a Canadian customer.

So I think the move to a new facility has made the timing a lot more challenging. I was told the move is almost complete. I hope this additional info helps some folks.

They will have a one piece front and a rear deck template for the PA12 when I get the templates to them

Hi Steve; Thanks for your reply. I did finally get my off the shelf replacement kit. I also ordered and paid for the rear deck for my 2013-PA14 in the same order. My kit arrived on Friday minus the rear deck. I phoned and left several messages for Paige and then had a return phone call from a man (Frank?) who explained that if I wanted the rear deck it was extra. I explained that I had already paid for the extra part and he told me that he couldn't even find my order in the system. It turned out that they had spelt my name wrong three different ways and each part was under a different name. He told me he would call back before last Tuesday and he called back on Monday to let me know that the second part of my order would be expedited, cut and shipped to me at no charge. My only concern is that I may have to pay more customs on a part that I have already paid duty on.

I hope it works out for you! Post some pictures if you can. I know you can't wait for warmer weather up your way.
