I may be selling an extra set of sails here soon and was wondering how to ship them. They are newer and I feel bad folding them. Any suggestions?

(They are 2005 Misty sails. if anyone is interested, message me)

I would leave it up to the buyer...cheap shipping and fold em, or ridiculously expensive shipped in a tube rolled up.
FWIW...the Euro Hobie sails came folded nicely. They have some creases due to that.

Yeah I would imagine that folding wouldn't be all that bad price-wise. I just don't even know how to fold them. The bolt rope is so stiff that it won't want to fold without a good fight.

"Flake" the sail from the bottom to the top. With the sail laid out and a helper at the clew and you at the tack, reach up about 3', grab the sail with your arm closest to the head, while holding down the sail at about 18" up with your other hand, giving the sail a Z-fold. Repeat as necessary until the sail is completely folded.

Roll it from clew to tack, so that the sailmaker's patch shows. (Notice that the patch should have the sail type (H16 Main), color pattern (Misty) and sail number written in pencil on the patch.)

That's how it's done at the factory.

Cool, thanks Matt. Same for the jib I assume. And then pack them together in a box.
