It is my understanding the the new vantage seat for the 2015 outback will not work on earlier outbacks. Is there any way to adapt the seat to a 2012 outback?

Location: Florida's Treasure Coast.
Matt Miller has said they won't work as the 2015 cockpit was redesigned to accept the new seat.
You may want to Google other manufacture's framed kayak seats as there are many who have adapted said seats to the 2014 and older Outbacks.

I might add, that if you want to test the new Vantage CT seat for comfort without having to actually buy the kayak or wait for so called "Demo days", that many dealers don't participate in, then may I suggest the following: ask your dealer if either they or yourself can remove the seat from the 2015 kayak. There are four leg posts held in place with bungies into the bottom of the seat. Release the legs and insert the legs into the receiver holes at each corner of the seat bottom and you can then sit in the seat on the show room floor to see how comfortable the seat really is.

I've sat in the new Native seats, Jackson seats, and Wilderness seats. Although they are all very good the new Hobie Vantage CT seat is awesome and by far the best of the lawn chair style. It has a softer mesh over a firmer/support mesh. It also seems to offer more adjustability than it's competition.
