Hi does anybody know what year did Hobie change there clip that holds the drive system. And is there any pictures of the old style and new style. i'm going to look at one this weekend and the seller doesn't know what year it is.

Not 100%, however I want to say the newer click & go was 2011. (pretty sure)

Cam lock knobs are black with a bolt down the middle.


Newer:
Image
The click and go are stainless with a black housing and lever ends.

Our old Oasis and our old revo's were all 2007-2008 vintage, and they had the old style clips (worked just fine with no issues. Our first TI was 2010 and that had the newer style clips (also work with no issues).
All Hobie kayak have a serial number engraved into the rear right corner of the hull which shows the month and year of manufacture.
If an older boat is in good condition and everything works and it doesn't leak (always inspect and check for leaks) then I would have no issues buying a used hobie mirage kayak.

2009. The new style (Click N Go) is much more durable, especially if you're using Turbofins. 8)
