My fully charged Hobie 12v battery is about 13.3 V DC.......I can operate my Humminbird 768 about 22-23 hours before recharging it.
Suggest obtaining a voltmeter to see what your battery is charging up to before you use it.....maybe your battery or charger is not up to snuff?

I'm using one similar to this. Runs my Garmin 151DV for days.

Nocqua makes one for about 2x the cost and 1/2x the power and it's water proof.
Works well but the ebay unit looks good too!

This is impossible, the standard Hobie battery is only 9Ah. A typical fish finder consumes between 0.75 and 1.5 Ah, so doing the math 9/0.75 = 12 hours or 9/1.5 = 6 hours.

silasvirus82...Sorry, I disagree, my Humminbird 768, using my DVOM, the DC current measurement, in use is 295mA DC..... this is why I can safely go 22-23 hours before I recharge the 9 A/H battery.

Reading through this thread, and looking at the manual of my fish finder it says 200mA @ 13.5v. I haven't gotten a battery yet but need to pull the trigger today. It appears that I thought I could just get a regular 12v9A battery to use since it is 1/3 the cost of the Hobie one but it seems the Hobie one is the better purchase due to its durability.

I am wanting to hook up a fish finder (Lowrance Elite-5 CHIRP Fishfinder and Chartplotter) and a GoPro camera (probably via a 12v cigarette lighter/usb plug option all located in a sealed box).

Totally clueless about this. There is a battery store right across the street from my office though. They have that $20 battery.

Edit: Just read that it is 1.1A draw. Not sure where I got the other information from.

I got the Hobie battery kit that's been discussed as it was a neat set up, did have an initial problem which I got fixed. I run an Elite 5HDI 8 hours consistently before it's drained. No issues thus far with degrading(5mths) It would be nice for Remco/Hobie to come up with a larger capacity battery for modern sonar packages given the route most go down these days with high spec units.

Thanks. I went ahead and ordered the install kit #2. 8 hours is enough for me at this point since I will not be out that long, yet.
