My AI hasn't arrived yet but I thought I would get a name made up, so i can stick it on when i take delivery.
Any ideas are welcome. It will be a Dune 2015 Adventure Island.
I have come up with the following
SEAHAWK
SANDPIPER
GIN & TONIC
WINDWALKER

"Desperate Dan" - whenever I see the profile of the new bow, I think of my favourite cartoon character from "The Dandy" :-)

Question for KayakingBob. Do you have an idea as to when spray skirts for the new AI might be ready.
The skirts on my old AI were fantastic. Will definitely get a set for the new one.

I now have access to a 2015 AI to fit from (still waiting for mine to arrive). It looks like the current AI kit may work, but we are using the new 2015 models as an excuse to revisit our design and possibly make a single kit that will fit all models. Some have had install questions, because I design my Sprayskirts for a tight fit. We are thinking about loosen the initial fit for ease of install, and providing easy instructions to tighten them after a few sails. The only thing holding this up is that there are no 2015 TI's yet in Hawaii to measure their fit from.

Anyone wanting a Sprayskirt for a 2015 can let me know when they order and I can include some additional parts to rig any adjustments from, if necessary. It shouldn't be much longer.

Thanks for the update. I will check your site periodically.

I hesitate to get into "naming" these boats because it is not like they are luxury boats (Queen E 2) or any historic significance like the "Mayflower." Naming it after the America's Cup defender "Oracle Team USA 17" would be a little pretentious and distasteful to many. These boats don't need a name; but, nothing wrong with putting your favorite forum name, like "Hogman" on your boat. My friend, Royd Whedon, has his WaterTribe name "DancesWithWaves" on all his boats. People recognized "DancesWithWaves" and come up to him. Chief, the head of the WaterTribe organization, has "Chief" on his boats. No one would recognize my sir name, but they do occasionally recognize "Chekika," which I have on my AI(s). I'm getting my 2015 AI in the next couple days, and I know the name which is going on it.

Keith
(aka Chekika)

Sometimes names just come to you... and stick. Like Doug here at Hobie Cat. They picked up a new cat and on the drive home it puked in the car. His name was Yucko!

Well, yes, things are named that way—not very creative. You can probably guess the source of “Scorpion Beach” (we named that one.) And, Hog Key. Shark River is an easy one. Panther Key is another easy one. Even Lostmans River. How about “Chekika Day Use Area”—who was that named after/for? How about Plate Creek? And Graveyard? What do you think happened at Pavilion Key to spawn that name? It wasn't because of a church revival.

Sorry Matt, I just can’t get excited about a cat named “Yucko.” I wonder what the cat thinks.

Keith

Sometimes names have meaning to the owner. I plan on naming my TI "3rd Normal Form". It alludes to several things: I have 3 kids, the boat is a trimaran, and I'm a Data Modeler. That name wouldn't make sense to anyone but me.
